I just want to put in a YAY! vote for Jenney. She rocks! I’ve been growing my hair out for 2 years and it’s been through all the terrible stages. Every time I’ve come to see her, she’s turned the blah into AWESOME! It’s three weeks since my last cut and color and I’m still getting compliments on my hair! I always feel terror as she snips and shapes. This last time I put myself in her hands and she cut bangs! I was mega suspicious but she has never been wrong and it turns out she was right again! They look great! She is single handedly keeping me cute, fashionable, and date-able! So… YAY Jenney!

3/15/2008 I became a Yelp! member just so I could write this review. Okay, so I’m a slightly chubby Indian guy who’s curly hair is thinning at the crown of my head. I am also, gasp, a creative director- not your friendly IT dude – and am consequently somewhat concerned about my appearance.
A few years ago, my regular hair person left the salon they were working at and moved, and since then my hair has suffered extreme indignities – from a hipster version of a comb over (a tuft of hair pushed over my thin spot – to a “let’s make it really puffy so no one will notice….:. In between I have had decent haircuts in London and Las Vegas, not exactly something I can do on a whim since I live in Berkeley…
Sole to the rescue – my haircut there today was fabulous – and I am extremely happy. All the things that I have read about Jenney on this site are true – she totally rocks. Not only is she great at what she does at Sole – she’s very personable and easy to talk to. I’ve already set up my next appointment with her… BTW nobody pushed product on me – I already use Aveda stuff.

They are the best! Highly trained. They listen to you, what you like and want. They treat you nicely. This is where I go to get my hair cut and done whenever I need to. Jenny is excellent!!

This is the first haircut in years that I have not gone home and “fixed” myself with my trusty razor comb. And that is probably the biggest compliment I can give.

Jenney is super chill, easy to talk to, listened to exactly what I wanted, and then did it.

The cut was a bit pricey at $65 plus tip (which she totally deserved), but I would definitely go back if I need to fix a bad chop job (mine, or someone else’s)

If you are looking for a true artist, you need to book a appointment with Jenn (Jenney Gutierrez)! I’ve been to so many salons in the bay area and out of the country as well and I must say Sole’ Salon has one of the best customer service and talented stylists and THE salon is clean!!!
Everyone who works there from the owners to the receptionist greets you with a warm welcome evey time!
